Where to, what now?

Fellow leaders,

It’s the end of week 6 of isolation! That’s 6 weeks since the last time my family and I ate at a restaurant, or since the last day my kid spent learning in the classroom.

Catch me at any given moment, and I might tell you the 6 weeks flew right by. Or I might tell you it feels like we’re living in dog years. Like a race where you know there’s a finish line, but you don’t know when you’ll get there.

All of the fear, uncertainty and tragedy in the world seems to get closer as the time passes and more people are affected. At the same time, people are growing and learning in ways they never would have imagined in February.

As I said to a client yesterday, this process of adaptation has been like learning an entirely new job. If you’re a parent too, it’s like learning two entirely new jobs. Judging by LinkedIn, a fair number of people are actually finding and taking new jobs in this strange environment. So to me, the amount of creativity and productivity that’s emerged in just a few weeks is remarkable.

If you need me, let’s chat. Below are a few things i’ve been reading, watching and sharing this week.

Yours in service,

Alan

Lastly, a couple of images caught my eye.
